How the job went

Every project, the same way: look, show, fix, prove.

01

The call

Large return ducts pull air from every room back toward the HVAC system, so anything that settles inside them gets carried through the whole system. This Frisco job began with a look inside those return runs, and every before photo was taken ahead of any cleaning.

02

What the camera found

The before photos show how different one set of ducts can look from run to run: a loose gray dust coating on the ribbed walls, a brown film of dust and debris, thick caked-on dirt, and dark streaking on the flexible duct lining.

03

The work

Each run was cleaned from the inside as part of our air duct cleaning service, then photographed again so every before frame has a matching after frame. Those photos are below so you can compare each run for yourself.

04

The result

The after photos show the loose dust and caked-on dirt cleared from the duct walls, with the ribbed lining and foil surface visible again in the cleaned runs. Scroll down to compare all five pairs.

Questions about this job

What homeowners ask when they see a project like this one , answered straight.

What is a large return duct, and why does it collect so much dust?

A large return duct carries household air back to the HVAC system, usually through a filter. Because so much air moves through it, dust, pet hair, and debris that get past the filter can settle on the inside walls over time.

Dust around the return grilles, dust that comes back quickly after cleaning, and musty smells are common clues, but the only sure way is to look inside. An air duct inspection shows the real condition of the duct walls.

Dust and dirt build up differently depending on the duct, its airflow, and what has been pulled into it. That is why this project shows everything from loose gray dust to thick, caked-on brown dirt.

Yes. We photograph the inside of the ducts before and after cleaning so you can see the difference yourself. This Frisco project includes five matching pairs from different duct runs.
